About us

Who is behind Pamarela?

Hi, my name is Paula, and I am the founder of Pamarela. Since I was a child, I have always valued and enjoyed everything related to craftsmanship. I have incredible memories of walking hand in hand with my parents through artisan fairs, curiously exploring every stand and wondering how it was possible to create such wonders by hand.

A lover of nature, especially the sea, and deeply committed to its care and recovery, I decided to study Marine Sciences. This marked the beginning of my real journey into chemistry and biology. After working in this field and starting a small family, I decided in 2023 to found Pamarela, pouring all my passion and the knowledge I had gained into what had been, until then, my hobby: handmade candle making.

I was passionate about the idea of creating a brand with values I had defended for years, without sacrificing the beauty and elegance of a product crafted with care and dedication. That is how Pamarela was born, with the deep desire to offer products of the highest quality while remaining committed to being free of toxins.

Pamarela

We tested hundreds of combinations of natural waxes and wicks in different containers until we found those that work perfectly together.

The soy wax we use comes from sustainable farms in Europe. In other parts of the world, soy cultivation is often linked to deforestation and the loss of prime agricultural land, as well as pesticide and herbicide residues (the last thing you’d want to inhale). For this reason, we work exclusively with suppliers who practice sustainable farming, ensuring a wax free of chemical residues.

By choosing soy, you support a renewable and eco-friendly resource that is produced without harming ecosystems. While soy wax candles may take a bit longer to fill a room with scent compared to paraffin candles, they last at least 30% longer.

Our wicks are just as special: for our jar candles, we use cherry wood wicks, while for candles without containers, we use unbleached cotton wicks with a paper core, dipped in natural wax. This contrasts with many cotton wicks on the market that contain a lead core. You can identify these by looking at the top of the wick; if you see a small dark dot in the center, that is the lead core.

In short, Pamarela is much more than a candle brand; it is the reflection of a passion for craftsmanship, respect for nature, and a commitment to quality. We aim to fill your home not only with light and fragrance but also with values that inspire conscious and respectful consumption. Thank you for being part of this journey, where elegance, beauty, and love for the environment come together to create something truly special.
